My 2009 'I Wills'

I've been thinking and thing of what I want to do this year. How exactly do I want to better myself? Honestly I don't know. This year I really want to better myself but I am unsure how I should go about doing that.


I do know that I've always wanted to learn the guitar. So for my birthday I want to get myself a guitar. I think it would be so fun to learn something I am not at all familiar with. I've never learned any musical instrument, unless the forth grade required recorder counts? I only remember one song and how to play it.

Anyone else remember that one? Anyway here are the 'I wills' I have come up with for 2009

~I will be a great parent~

~I will learn how to play the guitar~

~I will overcome one of my fears~

~I will get a kitten~

~I will start writing stories again~

~I will expect the unexpected~

~I will become an all around better person~

This years list is much shorter then the prior list from a few years ago. I guess I have different priorities or lower expectations for myself, ha! I am going to go with different priorities. Certain things happen in your life that teach you about what is trivial and what is most important in life.

I know this year will be an adventure, Alex will be starting Kindergarten in the fall! I have mixed feelings about this one. I am so excited for him to go to school and see how he expresses himself. To hear about what he wants to be when he grows up. It also makes me feel so old! My baby is turning five! He's not my baby anymore as he reminds me often, he is Alex or a big boy depending on the day.
