The Forgotten List

Back in High School I wrote a list titled 50 Things I Want To Do Before I Die. This list was also a guide to where I wanted to be in five years. As I mentioned in a previous blog I was going to be an amazing author. That was my main goal in life, everything else was going to be the things I got to enjoy with the money I was going to make writing stories. Looking back at this list life seemed so much easier than now. Out of 50 of these things, I've accomplished six... Yes you heard that right only 6.

I'm sure you're dying to know what these six things I've accomplished. So here they are;

#3 Graduate High School

#5 Stay friends with all High School buddies (keep in touch)

#9 Go to all Backstreet Boys concerts as possible

#14 Go to New York

#25 Go to more Collective Soul concerts

#37 Meet Collective Soul

Pretty self explanatory, I did graduate and I still hang out with friends from High School. I've gone to as many Backstreet Boys shows as possible and enjoyed a few Collective Soul concerts. I've even met the band members of Collective Soul, not the original band members but still counts. The only one that I'm not sure if it even counts is going to New York. Technically I've been in New York inside the Buffalo Airport and enjoying the border crossing into Canada. However I never did do any site seeing. I did see Niagara Falls... from the road.

Seven things I'll never be able to do, these ones are hard to explain;

#20 Have NO kids

#21 Never get married

#23 Become a "Coyote" with Jersey Naughtia, Sapphire and Diamond.

#33 Have first book published by age 20

#36 Move out with friends when 18

#38 Second book published by age 25

#41 Become a manager of a store before writing books

I've been married and I had a child so those ones are odd looking back now. The idea of raising a child never did appeal to me. Maybe I was scared and didn't think I would be a good mother. I can't imagine life with out Alex now. As I get older I start to think maybe one more would be fun. As much as having a teenage daughter scares me, having a daughter is starting to sound fun. I don't want to grow old alone and not married or having a significant other. So hopefully eventually getting married will happen again. I don't even know who Jersey Naughtia, Sapphire or Diamond are or where to find them so I'll pass on being a "Coyote". I'm no longer18, 20 or even 25 so having those books published and moving out with friends won't happen. Being a manager of a store before those books are published isn't going to happen either.

This list of course still has many things I can accomplish and things I would still like to do. #1 Go to Australia and #16 Go to Paris both sound simply delightful. However #11 Become an FBI Agent and #32 Get a tiger or panther are both a little far fetched.
